Unemployment and Reintegration Challenges:
Many individuals coming out of the criminal justice system and those in addiction recovery face significant challenges when it comes to finding employment and reintegrating into society. This problem can lead to a cycle of recidivism or relapse.
Our Solution
Fresh Start Barber School addresses these problems by offering a comprehensive barbering education combined with personal development and rehabilitation support, including sober living facilities for those in need. By doing so, we provide a pathway for these individuals to gain valuable skills, secure employment, and rebuild their lives.

Objectives
Creating a positive and fun environment to learn, equipping students with the knowledge to obtain a barbers license, and teaching them a skillset that will give them an advantage to become successful in the barber industry.
Safety First
The Indiana State Board regulates the barber industry with rules and guidelines which include observance of sanitation and sterilization practices for the safety of the professional and customers. Improper use of these can lead to the development of communicable diseases. Barbers require communicable disease testing prior to being licensed.
Fresh Start Barber School will be mentoring the students in the importance of giving back to their community. The students will donate their time to giving free haircuts in back-to-school cuts and other events.
